World Aid

My class and I played a key part in the annual event that brings hope to people in the poorest counties of the world by sharing the gift of food.

We gave up sweets and snacks on the 7th of December so Concern can help children just like us.

Some celebrities took part as well like, Samantha Mumba, Westlife and Patrick Kielty. Our class raised £335.00 and we are very proud of ourselves!

I  have also done the Trocaire Fast on the 2nd and 3rd of March. That was a 24 hours fast but I enjoyed the challenge!  I had already raised money for Trocaire at Easter around 3 years ago. I raised £203.00 by selling Peruvian dolls in school. That money went to Trocaire`s work in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. The 24 hour fast money went to freeing slaves in India this year and I think that it was a very worthy cause.

I love to read poetry and this is one of my favorite poems.

The Night will Never Stay.

The night will never stay,

The night will still go by.

Though with a million stars,

You pin it to the sky.

Though you bind it with the blowing wind,

And buckle it with the moon.

The night will still go by,

Like sorrow or a tune.

By Eleanor Farjeon.

This is my own poem which I wrote for Valentines Day.

Love is…

I think love is like a dove,

            Fluttering down from above.

Its shown me things about myself,

That I would have never known.
