Bunratty Castle &
Folk Park:
Bunratty Castle is the most complete and authentic castle in Ireland. Within its
grounds is Bunratty Folk Park where the
19th Century village life is recreated.
Medieval banquets are held in the Castle
nightly, where a traditional Irish evening is
held. Bunratty Castle is only 10 minutes
drive from our house and we would be
happy to book a banquet there for you. |

King Johns Castle and
St. Mary’s Cathedral:
Located on King Island, Limerick city The castle was built between 1200 and 1210 AD and
was extended many times in the following centuries. The courtyard in the castle displays
some of the trades and traditions of the 16th Century. St Mary’s Cathedral
was built in 1168 AD and contains many fine antiques including a pre-Reformation limestone
alter. |
The Cliffs of Moher:The
Cliffs of Moher 8KM long and 214 metres high and it is on these Cliffs that
O’Brien’s tower stands out on the headland. Cornelius O’Brien, a descendant
of Brian Boru, built the tower in 1835. O’Brien’s tower is the best location
from which to view the Cliffs, from this vantage point one can see th Aran Islands, Galway
Bay, as well as The Twelve Pins and the Maum Turk mountains to the north and Loop Head to
the South |

The Hunt Museum:
The Hunt Museum exhibits the greatest and largest private collection of arts and antiques.
The collection reflects our Celtic past as well as masterworks by da Vinci, Yeats, Picasso
and Renoir. Donated to the people of Ireland by John and Gertrude Hunt, the collection is
housed at one of Ireland’s finest Georgian buildings on the banks of the Shannon
River. |
Craggaunowen:Craggaunowen, The Living Past, is a reconstruction of
the lives and living conditions of the early inhabitants of Ireland, complete with lake
dwelling and ring fort. Located just ½ hour drive from our house, Craggaunowen captures
the daily lives of ancient Irish people. |
