Countdown

Ten, nine, eight,
seven, six, five,
Not long to wait
For the Millennium live.

Almost midnight
Four, three, two, one
One minute past
Begins the fun.

Balloons go pop
We have to shout.
Everybody's doing the party hop,
Fireworks are out.

Party's over, home we go,
What a night of fun
Are we sad, no, no, no
We'll party in 2001!

Composed by the 4th class pupils of
St. Finian's N.S., Dillonstown, Co. Louth
and Cloonlyon N.S., Charlestown, Co. Mayo.

Millennium Bug

The Millennium bug
Is out and about
Lives snug under the rug
Sneaks out with a shout.

Out with a shout
All covered in hair
Any computer about
Is in for a scare.

He chews the wire
Has a funny purple head
And causes a big fire
Is the computer dead?

No, no, not dead
But the bug went splat!
We stood on its head
And squashed it flat.

Composed by the 3rd class pupils of
St. Finian's N.S., Dillonstown, Co. Louth
and Cloonlyon N.S., Charlestown, Co. Mayo.

Millennium Eve

All over the world
There'll be parties this night
And fireworks so big
That they'll give you a fright
With adults and children
All light up with glee
We are all so happy
And so is every family.

Millennium

Fireworks in the sky
Everybody singing
Old year passing by
All the church bells ringing.

A New Year has begun
A new time of peace
Everybody having fun
All the wars will cease.

Millennium Eve

That night we waited
For that golden hour at twelve o' clock
When the New Year, century and Millennium came
Some waited for the clocks last tock.

Then the whole world shouted out with glee
For it was a new century
A new beginning for the world
And the monks prayed for man that night in their monasteries.

The Last Millennium

In the last Millennium
We have seen lots of things
From the first motor car
To flying without wings

From men on the moon,
An end to dark nights
To the end of the Earth
Is just a short flight.

Millennium

The candle starts to fade
It's almost midnight
Just one hour to go
And we will get a fright.

The world is a better place now
You have nothing to worry about
It's into the new Millennium
So lets all watch out.

The Millennium Night

Millennium is a happy time
It started just this year
We had parties at night
They were all around here.

I had sweets and stuff and maybe a bun
And everybody was there
When it was nearly twelve we counted ten to one
And everybody went mad everywhere!

The Celebration

Everyone enjoy the year
The Millennium is finally here,
So everybody celebrate
This time of year it's really great.

The bonfire lit all night
The fire works are really great,
The count down from ten to one
Lots of noise and lots of fun!

The Millennium Dome

The Millennium Dome is very big
It was opened on New Year's night
People came from all over the world
To see that spectacular sight.

There were a lot of posh people
And a lot of posh cars
On that wonderful night
Under the stars.

A New Century

We're going into a different century
A better one this time
A one where there are fun and games
And people are so kind.

Little children scrambling about
Having a pleasant time
Parents are so happy now
This century is just fine.

By Adele

Millennium

Everyone is happy
For the New Year
Mothers nursing babies
Fathers drinking beer.

Fireworks going mad
Parties everywhere
Little children having fun
Playing Truth or Dare.

The Millennium and Computers

We were told that,
Computers go funny,
Their chips just crack,
They'll lose their memory,
And it won't come back,
But that was lies,
They all work now,
And everyone sighs,
We all shout wow!
