Second Class notes:

Visiting the library: We started going to the Branch Library in January. We go to change our books every Tuesday at 12 noon. You can borrow two books at a time. Mr. Higgins and Ms. Rowland bring us. We love to read.
Sowing seeds: One day Conor Higgins came into our class with our teacher. He showed us how to plant some seeds for spring. We sowed petunia, sweet pea, marigold and lobelia. They have to be watered every day. They are growing nicely in the heat of our classroom.
And jokes:
Why did the boy eat his homework?
Because it was a piece of cake!

What did the fish say when it ran into the bridge?
Dam.

What bird is always out of breath?
The puffin.

Why did the orange stop half way down the hill?
Because it ran out of juice.

                  Cuili
The area cuili finals were held in Scoil Phádraig recently. A number of schools from the area took part. However, Scoil Phádraig who had been training hard managed to win, even if only by one point and well into extra time.
We then went into the knock-out stages against Glencastle where again the result was a victory by one point in extra time - but this time Scoil Phadraig were to lose. At the moment, third and fourth classes are taking part in a league every Wednesday. Best of luck to all teams.

Congratulations to J. Devanney, 6th class, the new u-12 and u13 All-Ireland Snooker Champion. J. beat off stiff competition to take the titles last weekend in Dublin.

Get Well wishes to Miss Lavelle
Room 11 would like to send best wishes to our teacher Miss Lavelle. We hope she's comfortable in bed and not like us in wooden chairs. Everyone is glad that she's out of hospital and that she's a bit better now. We all wonder if she can remember our names. All the teachers miss her. All in Room 11 sent her Get Well cards. Everyone can't wait until she comes back because it's not the same without you.
Get well soon from everyone in the school.
