Middle League Final (Soccer}
It was Thursday, February 12th, the day of the middle league final - K. Tighe's team v S. Strogen's. We went to the P.E. hall at 2 o clock. Mr. Maughan was the referee for the match. We got our bibs and tossed a coin to see who would take tip. S.S won the toss. S.S. and J. took tip but T.L. got the ball and passed to K. T. and he scored. Then T.L. scored a solo goal. S.S. took a shot at L.K. but he saved it and passed to D.R.. He passed to T.L. who passed to K.T. and he scored. The score was 3-0 to K.T.s team Then T.L. scored his second goal. S.S. scored two goals for his team - the score was 4-2 at half-time. The teams switched sides and the subs came on. P.F. came on for Th.L. on K.T.'s team and L.K and R.D came on for S.S.'s team. T.L. and K.T. took tip. T.L. had another shot at goal but P.H. saved it and K.T scored the rebound to make it 5-2. D.R's passing was spot-on. L.M. got two goals in a row to make it 5-4. Th.L took five shots at goal without scoring. Then Th.L passed to Keith and he scored to make it 6-4. P.F. rattled the crossbar twice. S.S. hit the bar and then scored the rebound to make it 6-5. K.T. wrapped R.D. and passed the ball to T.L. who passed it back and K.T scored. L.K. played hard in the backs. S.S. scored to make it 7-6. S.S. took another shot but Sir had blown the whistle. K.T.'s team got gold medals and S.S's team got silver ones. We got our photos taken. Thank you Mr. Maughan for a good league.
