Kitano's Entrance :: |
|
0:09:04
-- 0:09:07 |
|
A
additional angle of the military entrance is seen as Kitano enters
the abandoned school. The camera is placed at a height above the group
and Kitano as we see them approach the door of the classroom. |

Reactions to Question :: |
|
0:10:28
-- 0:10:32 |
|
In
the original version, Kitano writes "BR ACT" on the blackboard
and asks, "Do you know what this means?", followed by a
reaction shot of the Lighthouse girls (Utsumi, Satomi etc.). The Special
Version adds 2 additonal shots after this of the rest of the class
in a state of confusion. This is another well needed addition and
one that gives a better sense of the students reaction to the ordeal
at first. |

Fuijiyoushi Audio Change :: |
New SFX (358kb, .mp3) |
0:13:26
-- 0:13:39 |
|
One
of the most noticable changes in audio in Special Version can be heard
when Kitano kills Fujiyoushi. Now there is a huge "whooshing"
noise added as the knife is thrown across the room. The imapct of
when Fujiyoushi hits the floor, along with the commotion of the class
has been amped up considerably also. Note that the soundclip available
for download above is a comparison: Original Version plays first,
followed by Special Version. The difference is very noticable. |

Removing
the Knife - CG Correction
:: |
|
0:13:54
-- 0:13:55 |
|
In
the Original Version, if you looked closely you'll see that Kitano
removes the knife from Fujiyoushi's face, rather than her forehead.
Special Version corrects this using a bit of CG. The knife is now
removed from the forehead and in a nice touch, Fujiyoushi's head moves
as Kitano pulls it out. |

Reactions to Nobus Death :: |
|
0:17:10
-- 0:17:17 |
|
Another
substantial addition: after Nobu is killed and his scorecard is shown,
we are now shown reaction shots of Sugimura, Chigusa, Mitsuko, Kawada
and Kiriyama. Kawada and Kiriyama don't react at all.... those cold-hearted
bastards! ^_^ |
::
Mimura's Postcards :: |
|
1:07:10
-- 1:07:13 |
|
2
additional postcards from Uncle Mimura are now shown. Not entirely
sure what the purpose of this is. Perhaps they're added in to give
a sense that Mimura's uncle sent him more than one postcard!... |

Sugimura Saves Shuya:: |
|
1:07:34
-- 1:07:37 |
|
The
above 3 second shot is completely gone from the Special Version.
Basically, when this scene is shown in SV it cuts straight to the
close-up shot of Sugimura carrying Nanahara. Original Version started
with the far-away shot seen above, then cut to the close-up. The
shot was cut more than likely for pacing reasons. The time-frame
given above is for the Original Version. |
