The
Book -worm Club:![]()
Recently, we have introduced the "Book-worm Club" , a shared reading programme for pupils from First to Fifth class. Highly motivating , colourful books were provided by Tipperary County Library. Pupils in each class were divided into various reading groups and were set targets by each class teacher .
To date , the " Book-worm Club" has been highly successful with the shared reading corner always busy. All pupils have received progress certificates .
Cursaí Spóirt:
In Cappawhite N.S. we
enjoy a range of sports. Pupils from First to Sixth classes
attend swimming lessons locally, at Tipperary Swimming Pool.
Gaelic games also
feature high on our agenda, with both boys and girls
participating in many locally organised hurling and Gaelic
Football competitions. Trainers from the local F.Á.S. scheme
attend the school each Monday and train all classes in game
skills.
Basketball has recently become popular in
our school. Fourth, fifth and sixth class girls are currently
playing in a school league competition.
Congratulations to
the "Lions" Soccer team who were the winners of the
2000 Soccer League. They emerged as winners after beating the
"Tigers" in a closely fought match , which was
eventually decided by a penalty competition. Many thanks to Mr.
Devlin for organising the competition.
