One law for the large states . . .

IN A statement Seán McGoldrick, Ard Chomhairle, Republican Sinn Féin said that the reason why Germany avoided a reprimand on February 12 from the Ecofin group of the EU’s 15 Finance Ministers, was because of Germanys size and influence within the EU.
“This is precisely the same reason why, last year, the same body was able to hand down a reprimand to the Dublin government on their handling of the economy, even though they were possibly in a better economic position then, than Germany is now.

“There are lessons to be learned in this for people who still insist that the Nice Treaty be ratified. Nice would increase the domination of the larger States. It would lead to a deepening and widening in the gulf of power between the large and small States.

“That is, deeper and wider than it already is . . .”
