The publication of Dara Ó Conaola’s first book of short stories, Mo Chathair Ghriobháin, established him as one of the most important writers writing in the Irish language in recent times. His book of tales and stories Night Ructions, (translated by Gabriel Rosenstock)was launched at the 1990 Sunday Times Festival of Literature, Hay-On-Wye, Wales. His novella Misiún ar Muir/Sea Mission, reissued 2001, was staged at An Taibhdhearc as part of the Galway Arts Festival in 1992 and at Expo ‘92 in Spain.
Dara’s work has been translated
into German, French, Croatian and Romanian. His short story Amuigh Liom
Féin is on the Irish Leaving Certificate curriculum.
