The aim of POPA was to make a web-based application that could utilise a wireless PDA to allow its use as a mobile Oracle Database administrator’s tool.

View the Product Brochure here.

POPA is a custom web based application written in ASP, Server side JAVA, HTML and SQL. POPA uses ASP queries to access it’s own Oracle based repository of views, functions and tables.

This allows all the SQL complexity to reside on the Database server. All of POPA’s queries are custom written and based on years of DBA experience.

POPA combines custom code, SSL, Password encryption, PDA hardware, WI-FI, Bluetooth and Oracle technologies to combine into a single Windows © based solution.

Product Highlights:

  • Simple to use interface puts the power of over 70 Database monitoring queries and functions executed through use of stylus and touch screen into the DBA’s hand. There is no need to remember or type long queries.
  • A Comprehensive health check option is available, executing 15 major queries at the touch of a button. These are displayed in simple traffic light format which can be drilled down even further where needed.
  • The ability to run, save and load any custom written SQL is provided to allow the execution of SQL that POPA does not provide out of the pack.
  • The ability to run server side o/s commands, even allowing the shutdown and start-up of the Oracle © Database (in the event of problems).

In order to insure compatibility POPA has been tested with the major Oracle © versions in the Market place. 8i , 9i and 10G and works with all.
