The European Network of young people against tobacco is based in Helsinki, Finland.   This organisation aims to exchange information and experience between experts and researchers aiming to improve smoking prevention efforts in Europe.  This exchange is accomplished by collecting information, creating a database of programmes which are happening, publishing a newsletter "Interaction" and by holding conferences and meetings.

This organisation also sets out to co-ordinate all Europe against Cancer programme activities related to young people.  To date four programmes have been launched.

- Smoke Free class competition.

- Smoke Free partnerships.

- Quit and Win - Don't start and win.

- Berlin Youth Conference June 2000.

There are approximately half a million young people working on these programmes.

"Based on our experience, we can now be sure that there is an interest among young people to participate in smoking prevention and cessation programmes".
