Our School

This Roman Catholic Denominational mixed national school which was opened for the reception of pupils, for the first time on 5th January 1982 is situated in the Ballycarnane area of Tramore town. The school was officially opened and blessed by Bishop Michael Russell P.D. on Wednesday 19th May 1982. At present the school is a seventeen teacher school having 15 Class Teachers, a Principal, a Remedial Teacher and 434 pupils. Within the next few months we expect to see work begin on the building of an extension of six classrooms to the school which we hope will alleviate the overcrowding that we have at present. The school is fortunate in that it has always been served by an active and interested Board of Management led by Mgr. John Shine P.P. (Chairperson) and a similarly constructed Parents Association, which is affiliated to the N.P.C.

School hours are from 8.50a.m. to 2.30p.m.

The Teaching Staff of the school are committed to using ICT as a natural and integral part of our pupils' learning. We aim to encourage the use of ICT as a tool for work and learning in all aspects of our pupils' education. They will also use ICT to help them produce and present projects, establish databases and acquire the skills needed for research. For the Staff it is an invaluable tool for teacher research, planning and preparation of lessons, schemes etc.
