The RIP on this beet harvester refers to the closing down of the last sugar-beet processing factory in the country and the subsequent loss of this vegetable as a crop for the Irish farmer. This is probably the last time that a beet harvester will be seen in this parade, unless, perhaps, as a vintage piece of machinery in the future.
