Adventures by the lake. Christopher and Kenneth went to the lake. They brought fishing rods and nets and bait. They had flies and hooks too. It was a warm sunny day and there was very little wind. They brought a picnic basket because they were going to stay for a long time at the lake. In the picnic basket, there were sandwiches and drinks and oranges and apples. Kenneths favourite sandwich was just bread and butter and Christopher liked ham and mayonnaise. Suddenly we heard someone yelling Help!. We saw a boy drowning in the lake. Martina had shown us a video of water safety. Christopher got a long stick beside the tree. We ran to the lake and held out the stick. The boy grabbed the stick and we pulled him to the bank. I ran home and phoned the ambulance and Christopher stayed with the boy. They brought him to the hospital. They let him out the next day and he was ok. The ambulance men thanked us and praised us. We caught 5 fish each with our fishing rods. We caught salmon, pike and trout. We brought them home in a plastic bag. We cooked the fish in a pot in Kenneths house and we shared them. We put salt on the fish and we had some fish fingers and chips. They tasted nice. We had a wee nap after all that.. By Kenneth and Christopher. 2nd Class |

My Accident One day when I was on my bike going to school and I fell off it. I was going too fast and I forgot to pull my brakes. There was a car parked on the side of the road. I pulled the front brakes. I fell on top of the car. My bike was on the road. A car came down the road and broke my bike. The bike flew up into the air. It landed on the car roof. The wheel rolled off and the car crashed into a tree. I hurt my arm and my leg but I did not get cut. A man came to help me. He took me to the hospital. I had a plaster put on my arm. |
