Science 2002-5th Class

Our Science Year

By Artemis Reilly

During the year we made parachutes, paper helicopters, bridges, fingerprints and used lemon juice to make invisible writing. We were given all the materials by our teacher: lollipop sticks, magnets, string, paper, lemon juice and paper clips carried out all the assignments . The class used these materials. I enjoyed all the tasks but I enjoyed making the parachutes best.

Catherine Dobson's Science Presentation

We were asked to make simple parachutes. We were given a plastic bag, scissors and string. We cut out a small rectangle out of the plastic bag. We fit holes onto the sides of the rectangle. We got a small piece of string and slid both ends of the string into the holes. On ecah end of the string we tied a knot. We held the parachute up highand dropped it to see if it would land softly.

Conclusions

We found out when we dropped the parachute that it dropped softly to the ground.

There are two teams. There should be the same number of players on each team(5-10)

Each team has a small sponge ball. The object of the game is to knock the skittles down or to hit a person on the other team with the ball. A team wins when the other teams' skittles are knocked down or all the people are knocked out. You are not allowed cross the centre line. If you catch the ball cleanly, you are not out but if you fumble, you are out.
