George Munday, formerly of Slidefile and Imagefile has recently allied the use of his Imacon Photo Scanner with Windows XP, a satellite, a new company and his house in the country.
He now operates his new business, The Irish Image Collection, from his home which is set in a tranquil part of Meath, northwest of Ashbourne. The recently installed satellite dish gives him 24-hour connection to the Internet with connection speeds up to 400 kbps. He spends his time scanning selected images on his Imacon scanner, marketing and negotiating deals for image rights with clients from all over the world.
We have all dreamed of a stress free life and whilst the early days were anything but stress free, George is one of the few people that I know who will be in a position to avail of this. Whilst setting up his scanner on a Windows XP system, George explained to me the advantages of his new way of life.
With no traffic, parking wardens or wasted travelling time to contend with he has extra time to maintain on the website which starts with just over 4,000 images and which can be modified on a regular basis as required. His well-equipped office looks out onto green pastureland and over a freshly brewed coffee George explained to me "that with his 40,000 images, a satellite, computer and Imacon, I could live anywhere". I truly was impressed and should you ever consider that an Imacon scanner is not for you, picture for yourself, the convenience of working in such halcyon surroundings with the satellite dish broadcasting a 50mb scanned file to a client in some far away place.

It could be you!
