My name's Steve, and I've been a subscribing WWOOF host for several years. Some of the people who have WWOOFed here have described this farm as "the best WWOOF in Ireland" (but I don't think any of them had been to them all) one even declaring that I provided "an excellent atmosphere, excellent company, and excellent food".

Henry David Thoreau wrote that "to be a philosopher is not merely to have subtle thoughts but so to love wisdom as to live by its dictates a life of simplicity, independence, magnanimity and trust" and that has always seemed to me to be good advice  -  even before I went to university as a mature student and managed to graduate with a philosophy degree (more a matter of instiable curiosity than of a lofty or particularly subtle mind!)

I've also worked as a barman, hotel night porter, waiter, journalist, electronics technician, vending machine filler, shepherd, builder's labourer, direct care worker and counsellor with the inner city homeless, as a charity administrator, a Man in A Suit monitoring the provision of social housing by the housing association movement in Wales, and as a computer system analyst, program negotiator, trainer and manager.

If you'd like to read an independent, professional assessment made while I was finding out how long I could put up with wearing a suit you'll find a copy of a Savill & Holdsworth OPQ Report here, but if you'd prefer to skip that and go straight to details about how to contact me, click here.
