LIGHT AND ILLUMINATION
An understanding of the principles of light is important to the design of CCTV systems because without adequate light there can be no pictures. What is ‘adaquate light’ is dependent on many factors, some of which have already been mentioned in the specification of cameras and lenses. The most important aspects of light affecting the design of CCTV systems are: Light level in lux: reflectance: The wave length of the light source. The light level and reflectance are interrelated and decide the camera sensitivity. The wavelength must be related to the spectral response of the camera.
