5th Class Poems - April

The Ghostly Horse

I see a black shadow galloping

along the hills.

Clip cloping coming from

the mills

An owl flies by

I see the ghostly horse pass by

I don `t like those black dreary

nights

They always seem to give me a

fright.

by Amy, (5th)

The Graveyard

There lay pebbles on the ground, people

came but did not dare make a sound.

People sobbing crying too, people thinking

isn't it a shame, it always on a day like today.

Flowers lay on the grave, peop crying, could not stop,

as the body went down and down into the ground.

By Maura, (5th)

5th Class Poems - January to March

Reflection

I look in the mirror

And what do I see?

I see my twin sister

Staring at me.

Our hair is the same

And so are our clothes

Our eyes are the same

And so is our nose

I look in the mirror

And what do I see

I see my reflection

Looking at me.

By Una.

Sunlight

As sunlight shines upon my face,

Something crosses my mind,

I really want to pack my suitcase

And cross the border line.

I can’t really see - the sun is too bright

I can’t cope with all this burning,

In the distance I can see a little kite,

And a child that seems to be turning.

By Kate.

I don’t like…. ?

I don’t like school

And I don’t like maths.

I don’t like mice

And I don’t like rats.

I don’t like cabbage

And I don’t like cheese

I don’t like sprouts

And I don’t like peas.

I don’t like fish

And I don’t like rain

I don’t like my brother

He’s really insane.

If there is something I like

I think its just air

But I’m beginning to think

Its kind of unfair.

By Stephen.

I Wonder Why …. ?

I wonder why God made the earth?

Or why my mom picked me to give birth?

Or why instead of floating we touch the ground?

And why the world goes round and round?

Or why we’re here and not there?

Or why we cannot see the air?

Or why cars aren’t made for flight?

Or why I picked this poem to write?

By Niamh.
