| Like many great comedy teams, John Newman and Jim Halligan work together brilliantly as a team, writing turnabout chapters, the one being very good at plot, the other at characters and humour. Both are primary school teachers in St Anne's National School, Shankill. John Newman lives in Greystones with his 'decidedly wicked wife, Astrid' and their three children, Astrid, Frank and Sean - 'the less said about them the better'. Jim Halligan lives in Shankill with his 'lovely wife' (he knows she'll read his biographical details later), and two sons. John and Jim teamed up about five years ago to write school books for C J Fallon and to date have produced eleven educational books. They promised (threatened?) that Fowl Play (Wolfhound 1998) would not be their last fiction baby and they were right |
