O most kind and loving saint, in union with you I
adore the Divine Majesty. The remembrance of the favours with which God
blessed you during life, and of your glory after death, fills me with joy, and I
unite with you in offering to Him my humble tributr of thanksgiving and
praise. I implore you to secure for me, through your powerful
intercession, the all important blessing of living and dying in the state of
grace. I also beseech you to obtain the favour I ask in this novena, (here
ask the favour you wish to obtain), but if what I ask is not for the glory
of God or for the good of my soul, obtain for me what is most conducive to both.
Amen

Christ be with me, Christ
within me,
Christ behind me, Christ
before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to
win me,
Christ to comfort and
restore me,
Christ beneath me, Christ
above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in
danger,
Christ in mouth of friend or
stranger.

ST PATRICK'S BREASTPLATE
I bind unto
myself today
The power of
God to hold and lead,
His eye to
watch, his might to stay,
His ear to
harken to my need.
The wisdom of
my God to teach,
His hand to
guide, his shield to ward;
The word of
God to give me speech,
His heavenly
host to be my guard.
I bind unto myself the name,
The strong name of the
Trinity;
By invocation of the same,
The Three in One, the One in
Three,
Of whom all nature hath
creation;
Eternal Father, Spirit,
Word,
Praise to the Lord of my
salvation,
Salvation is of Christ the
Lord.

O St
Vincent Pallotti, called by God, you have founded the Union of the
Catholic Apostolate and you have given to it as a rule and a model the
same life of Jesus Christ. Firmly confident of your protection, we
ask you to bless our works and to instill your spirit in all the
baptised, so that they may dedicate their lives totally to the
Apostolate. Give us the power to witness with our life as true
sons and daughters of Mary, Queen of the Apostolate and Patroness of the
Union. |

PRAYER FOR GRACE
St Vincent Pallotti, you understand the
difficulties and struggles we all face in our daily lives. Empowered by
the grace of God you overcame many setbacks in your own life and brought hope
and consolation to everyone you encountered. You continue to help all
those who face difficult challenges today.
We humbly ask you to come to our aid and obtain
from God this special intention, (mention your intention).
Increrase our faith, encourage our hope,
deepen our love and strengthen our perseverance. Be with us in our prayer
and help us to pray with greater confidence. St Vincent Pallotti be our
helper and intercessor before God. Amen.

When on 22
October 1978 I said the words 'Be nit afraid' in St Peter's Square, I
could not fully know how far they would take me and the entire
Church. Their meaning came more fron the Holy Spirit, the Consoler
promised by the Lord Jesus to His disciples, than from the man who spoke
them. Nevertheless, with the passing of the years, I have recalled
these words on many occasions.
The
exhortation 'Be not afraid' should be interpreted as having a broad
meaning. In a certain sense it was an exhortation addressed
to all people, an exhortation to conquer fear in the present world
situation, as much in the East as in the West, as much in the North as
in the South.
Why should
we have no fear? Because man has been redeemed by God.....in the
Redemption we find the most profound basis for the words 'Be not
afraid': 'for God so loved the world that He gave His only Son.'
This Son is always present in the history of humanity as Redeemer....the
power of Christ's Cross and Resurrection is greater than any evil that
man could or should fear....Christ alone can give the ultimate assurance
when He says:'Be not afraid!'

Steer
the ship of my life, good Lord, to the quiet harbour, where I can be
safe from the storms of sin and conflict. Show me the course I
should take. Renew me in the gift of discernment, so that I can
always see the right direction in which I should go; and give me the
strength and courage to choose the right course, even when the sea is
rough and the waves are high, knowing that through enduring hardship and
danger we shall find comfort and peace.

Glorious
St Anne, filled with compassion for those who invoke you, and with
love for those who suffer; heavily laden with the weight of my troubles, I
cast myself at your feet, and humbly beg you to take my present difficulty
which I recommend to you, under your special protection. (Here mention it)
I
ask you to recommend it to your daughter, the Blessed Virgin Mary and lay
it before the throne of Jesus, so that He may bring it to a happy
conclusion.
Cease
not to intercede for me until my request is granted. Above all
obtain for me the grace of one day beholding my God face to face; and with
you and Mary and all the saints, praising and blessing Him for all
eternity.
Good
St Anne, Mother of her who is our life, our sweetness and our hope, pray
to her to obtain our request.
