A Chara,

I would like to welcome you to our club website.

When the webmaster, who looks after our club website, asked me to write a chairman's page, I wished he had stayed in Australia for all of 2002 but when I look back on the last three years as chairman of St Brigid's Hurling Club, it is people like himself,  Nollaig, Marius, Rom, Johnny, Sean, Eamonn, Edmund, Timmy, and Jimmy that comes to mind. To run any hurling club, one needs lots of help and lots of money of which our club has very little of either so I will appeal to any parent reading this who have kids playing the game to come along and give a hand no matter how little as  it makes everybody else's job that bit easier.
On the finance end of things apart from the usual fund raisers we get very good financial help from our sponsor Sean T Farrell of whom Gerry Gavin is a partner this year.  I also want to thank Gerry Sheridan and his wife of GMS Windows Rochfortbridge who have kindly donated a new set of jerseys to our underage teams. As the year comes to a end, I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who helped out in anyway through out the year,  to Gerry Gavin for the use of his field for training, to St Mary's GAA Rochfortbridge for the use of their field for games, to our own club committee and team trainer. This year, we were lucky to acquire the services of Nollaig McEntaggert as club secretary and he has been excellent throughout all of the year.  Apart from his secretarial duties, he managed to coach the Fe12 team to a county B title. Nollaig can be contacted at 04423500 or 0872438719.

Wishing all our patrons, members and supporters a happy and prosperous 2003.

Paul Deegan
Chairman St Brigid's H.C
