Fenagh tops with easy win

SCORE BOARD

St. Caillin’s ........ 1-16 Carrigallen ......... 0-10

St. Caillin’s assured themselves of a place in the Masonite Division One Semi-Finals when they accounted for Carrigallen with plenty to spare on Saturday morning.

In the final League game of the year for both sides, the Fenagh men had too much power for Carrigallen who didn’t really have a lot to play for as they were neither challenging for the semi-finals or fighting against relegation.

The victory means that St. Caillin’s have only lost two games all year - in the championship to the now relegated

Kiltubrid and in the League to Glencar/Manor who join them in the Semi-Finals.

St. Caillin’s had the better of the first half exchanges and led at the break by a commanding 1-11 to 0-4 with the game well beyond the reach of Carrigallen.

Despite a Carrigallen resurgence on the restart which reduced the deficit to five

points at one stage, the Fenagh side finished much the stronger to collect two league points and put themselves into the league semi-final.
