Visit School

Annaghmore School travelled by train to Dublin. There was a welcome reception at St. Clare's school. The children played organised circle games to get to know each other. Then they got the opportunity to play board games such as draughts, chess, connect four, jenga etc.

The children wore name tags and the circle games gave them the opportunity to get acquainted. They choose themselves who to play board games with. On the bus they talked among themselves and became more familiar.

Lunch at Mc Donald’s

At 12 O’ clock the children  travelled by coach to Ash Leaf shopping centre and had lunch at McDonald’s. They had the meal deal. They had a burger or cheese burger or chicken nuggets and chips and a drink. They really enjoyed McDonald’s and it was nice to share a meal together.

Viking Splash Tour

‘Duck’ entering the Grand Canal Basin

DUKW’S or ‘ducks’ built during World   War II

The children  travelled to Patrick Street and embarked on the Viking Splash Tour of Dublin. This is a fun historical tour of Dublin. It is relaxed and entertaining and has insights into the history, architecture and folklore of Dublin City. They passed by famous buildings such as Trinity College and St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The children travelled in reconditioned World War II military vehicles called ‘ducks’. The children wore Viking helmets and gave the Viking roar to the occasional unsuspecting passer by ( Celts) . The ‘duck’ went into the waters of the Grand Canal basin for a part of the tour. The tour lasted 75 mins approximately. It was a  fun and educational activity for the age group.
