Welcome
South Kerry Natural Irish Honey Producers is an active honey
producers group. The group consists of ten members each currently
having at least five honeybee hives.
The Group is South Kerry based and fortunate to have members
in the Kenmare, Killarney, Killorglin and Cahirciveen areas.
The members have been active as a group for the past four
years with information sharing and training sessions in relation
to bee husbandry and honey gathering, marketing and sale of
their produce. All members are involved in honey production
on a part-time basis. The group has been assisted by the South
Kerry Development Partnership through the administrative and
organisational inputs of its development officer and with
LEADER funding.

Products
Mid August the honey is removed and extracted from the comb
and either jarred or stored in large plastic containers and
jarred later as required. This honey is called run honey and
is jarred by the group in 12 oz round or hexogen jars. Section
and cut-comb honey is also available by the group.
