Post Leaving Certificate (PLC) in Business and Secretarial Studies



The Post Leaving Certificate Course in Business Studies - Secretarial is a training course designed to equip students with the technological skills that will enable them to seek work in today's computerised office environments.

Students are taught keyboard skills on up-to-date word processors and computer skills using Windows '98 and various software packages. The course is a full time day course and students are prepared for the N.C.V.A. Level II awards.

The modules studied are: Word Processing, Text Production, Database Methods, Computer Applications, Bookkeeping - Manual and Computerised, Desktop Publishing, Information and Administration, Communications and Information Technology Skills.

The course also comprises a mandatory two week period of Work Experience in an office situation. This Work Experience is moderated and certified by the NCVA (National Council for Vocational Awards)
