Our Swimming Club
History of Club
Our club was set up in 1987 by Ms. Kennedy, Ms. O'Daly and Ms. Farrelly. Seniors swim on Tuesdays and Juniors on Thursdays. An afterschool club for under 7's commenced in the early 90's. In the year 2000 the Finglas pool which we had been using since the beginning was closed for refurbishment and we now use the Ballymun pool. The sessions last for one hour.
Instructors
Mick has been the main tutor since the beginning ably helped by Liam(R.I.P.), Paddy, Dermot, Antoinette and Damien and several helpers including teachers and past pupils.
Achievements
The children have participated in Dublin Corporation Primary school Galas on an annual basis since the late 80's. We have been successful on numerous occasions winning both the local Finglas Credit Union Trophy and the overall Dublin Corporation Trophy.
