Balbriggan Awareness Of Drugs (B.A.D.) held a poetry competition.
The theme was "Future".
Gary in Ms. De Faoite's sixth class was the overall winner.
Below is Gary's poem.
Well done Gary.
Drug-free future
Please now everybody listen to my rhyme,
It's only short-won't take much time .
Everyone-stay off the drugs!
Cause only thugs take drugs.
Let all kids stay off the smack,
And try not to sniff on crack!
All drugs do damage,
Yes they do,
If others take them it affects you too
If people say "take them-it makes you a man"
You can walk away, oh yes you can!
And don't smoke hash,
It could cause you to crash-
It's not my future-it's yours to choose,
Better walk away or you're gonna lose!
Steroids made you big and strong
But if you start taking them, you're wrong
Staying off drugs is a golden rule
So do not take them-don't be a fool!
So listen to me and stay off the drugs
Cause like I said before,
DRUGS ARE FOR THUGS!
