Elephants

My name is Benny.

I'm awfully friendly.

I'm in this place.

Trapped and enclosed.

Every day from nine to six,

People bang on my cage with sticks.

Tall ones small ones,

Old ones too.

They all come to see me,

Benny,

But only a few.

THEY WATCH ME.

They look at me,

Day after day,

They laugh at me,

Day after day,

They point at me,

Day after day,

They throw stuff at me,

Day after day,

They watch me,

Day after day.

I want to go home,

Where I belong,

I want to see my son,

My other one,

I want to be free,

Not caged,

Nobody else,

Is like me.

I want to get flies,

Stuck to my skin,

I want to grow tusks,

Then I'll look tough.

I want to eat leaves,

I want to see bees,

I need some care,

So people won't stare.

They watch me,

Morning, noon, night,

I wish I could,

Just take flight,

I have a wife,

But not a life.

They watch me,

They watch me,

They watch me.

 They Come and Go

They come and go

They stare at me

They laugh at me

Why do they not,

JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!

They shout at me

They glare at me

They spit at me

Why do they not,

JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!

They point at me

They just hate me

They want to get rid of me

Why do they not

JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!

Elephant Life

1.     I'm here all day

Asleep on the hay

I hate it here

I miss Egypt, Africa.

2.      I want to go home

To go home, to go home

To the sand and

Pyramids.

3.       I stay here all day

Watching the people

Walk by me

I want to go home

 You're lucky to be human

Instead of a shower or

Horn. I hate it here
