A storyboard is a piece of paper with
drawings on it. The drawings are put together in order and when the storyboard
is finished it tells a story. Many producers use storyboards to explain
what the story is about.
My storyboard is the third verse of the
song "A Shaighdiúirín a chroí". The song is about
a girl who keeps asking a solider to marry her. The solider keeps making
excuses until the girl buys him shoes, a coat and a hat. Only when he receives
his last gift does the soldier tell her that he can’t marry her because
he has got a wife and family at the other side of the river!
I chose to draw the last verse as
I found it the most interesting. On a storyboard you are asked for what
scene you are doing. You are also asked for the vision. This is asking
you to explain what you see or what is happening in the picture. The storyboard
then asks you for the sound. Since my storyboard is a song I have to put
down the part of the verse you would hear when you would see that particular
shot. If however, the storyboard was not a musical I would have to put
down what the people were saying when you see that shot.
