TRIP TO THE BÓTHAR EXHIBITION

At 9:30 on the 9th May we set off to the Bóthar exhibition.. We travelled by bus with Mrs.O’Toole’s and Mrs.Cogan’s class. It was a sunny but breezy day. We passed by the Point depot on our way. We arrived there at 10:45 and fortunately we were early so there were no queues. When we got in we were handed a goodie bag which contained a t-shirt, a membership card, a badge, a cap, a sticker and sweets. As we walked in further we saw another school from Balbriggan called the Community College.

The exhibition was held in a very big hall. In the middle of the hall there were about 15 goats and a few chicks in a straw-filled pen. There were two bouncing castles crowded with children. There were stalls from different countries displaying information about how Bóthar has improved their lives. A craft shop laden with handmade gifts were kept busy selling their items to hundreds of children and students. After a while we had our lunch and we saw men parading around on their stilts. They were wearing colourful eye-catching outfits.

We left at 12:30 and we arrived back in the school at 1:45. We had a brilliant day and we got lots of information on Bóthar and the wonderful work they are doing for those less fortunate than us.
