 SCHOOL CREST

The crest is the Meath Diocesan Crest.  Initially there were seven dioceses in County Meath but this was subsequently reduced to just three:
1) Duleek
2) Clonard
3) Trim
The three mitres (Bishops' hats) shown on the crest represent the three dioceses of Meath.  The Latin words on the crest  "In Christo confido" translated into English mean "In Christ we trust".
Bishop Rochford, the first Bishop of Meath, is buried at Newtown, Trim.Bishop Michael Smith, a native of Oldcastle, is the current Bishop of Meath.

St. Patrick's - A Classical School
The school, originally on Academy St., was established mainly to educate students for the priesthood. The Classics i.e. Greek and Latin were an integral part of studies for the priesthood.
Although the school now teaches only one of the classical languages-Latin, it remains a diocesan and classical school.

The crest was painted by Graham Wall of   class 3R
