The Future

Oasis have changed...as you all probably knows  :)
The summer started off good with a new album being recorded in France.
But on the 9th of August Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs decided to leave the band.
It came as a great shock to all fans and of course to the band. Two weeks
after the departure Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan decided to also leave the group.
After the announcement the Gallagher brothers called to a press conference
and declared that; "It's going to be weird but we've just got to get on with it."
And further more;  "I know that we're lying bastards...but there you go."

After this they have looked for two new band members and on the 24th October
they announced a new guitarist. Gem from the band Heavy Stereo.
On the 12th of November the new bass player was announced. It´s Andy Bell from
Hurricane#1 and before that Ride.

In the end of October the tracklisting on the new album was officially announced.
It created a little bit news in the british newspapers due to the name of the first
song. It´s recorded in France plus a couple of studios in England.

It will be released the 28th February 2000.
Noel will sing on two of the songs and Liam has written Little James.
The first single will be Go Let It Out and they have already shot the video in Surray.
It´s Liam on a psychedelic journey where he meets lots of strange figures.
The single has the lines:
"Is it any wonder why princes and kings
Are clowns that caper in their sawdust rings?
And ordinary people that are like you and me
We're the keepers of their destiny."
The single will be released on February 7.

Here is what they have said about the new album.

Liam:  It´s like: "...Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side Of The Moon'. Fucking brilliant. The
best record we have ever done."

Noel: "It’s got 10 tracks on it - Liam’s got one, which is really good…there are 2
shit ones which I wrote, and the other 7 are all right."

McGee: "It's Oasis, but it's Oasis in the year 1999. It's different to the other
albums, it's a move on and the production's better than it's ever been. It's really
really beautiful."

David Potts: "The new album is very good, it's very different and much better
produced than the last one. It doesn't sound as pub rock as before and The Beatles
influence is still there, just a better era of The Beatles. Liam's track is really good
too... I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being a single."

They will also play three pre- christmas gigs in Philadelphia, Chicago and Detroit
on the 3, 4 and 5th December.
