Based in Swords (see map), Fingal, Ireland, Swords Judo (SJC) is a Junior club catering for the kids in the Swords area.

The club has training sessions twice weekly, Tuesdays 7:00pm to 9:00pm and Fridays 8:00pm to 9:00pm. As classes have grown it was necessary to split the class into sessions. Anyone wishing to join should come along to the first session beginning at 7:00pm. All sessions are currently held in Loreto Convent, River Valley, Swords.

The Club is run by Leo Gibbons and Tim Stewart.

Leo is originally from Finglas where he took up Judo many,many, many years ago.

You cannot be thrown by a nicer person. And he hates strangles (always worth remembering)

Two of our members are from the Gibbons clan - Adam and Jody. More about them later.
Tim Stewart, originally from the inner city area of Dublin. Tim took up Judo in his teens, (weren't the seventies great). After an absence from the sport for some years Tim came back and went on to get his Black Belt.

Tim has a wicked sense of humour and has beaten more opponents by having them fall around the place in laughter.

Three of the Stewart clan, Paul , Marie and Robert (three bellies) Stewart are members of the club.

The Club is non-profit and we strive to keep costs to the kids as low as possible. This can only be achieved through fund-raising activities such as the pub quizes. Also we are actively seeking sponsorship from companies. This sponsorship takes the form of a company picking a player to sponsor for the year.
