U-21 Hurlers lose district final

The U-21 hurlers were defeated by Bannow-Ballymitty in the final of the New Ross district Roinn 1 U-21 hurling final played in Gusserane on Saturday afternoon. The final score was 2-11 to 0-7. Despite playing with a strong cold wind in the first half, Taghmon trailed at the interval by 0-5 to 0-4. They started brightly in the second half and with greater accuracy would have eliminated the gap, but stout defence from Ballymitty prevented any goals being scored. Towards the end the toll of playing against the strong wind and rain told, and Ballymitty got enough insurance scores. All of Taghmon’s point came from frees by Eoin Leacy and Adrian Morrissey.

Lotto

The club's Lotto draw is on FRIDAY December 17 and is the first Lotto Draw to be held in the club bar in the community centre. Tickets are available from all usual sellers. Bottles of whiskey have been added as extra Christmas prizes for this draw.
