Football
The senior football team plays at Clongeen at 6 pm
on Sunday evening. We invite all to
attend on a bank holiday weekend to support the team. With wins in the last two matches the team will be top of the
table. The junior team plays the
Volunteers in Parc Charman at 7 pm on Monday.
The junior hurling match against Ballyhogue last Saturday did not take
place because of the referee’s absence.
U-10 Community
Games
The U-10 footballers play in the county final of the
Community games on Saturday in Parc Charman.
The team had convincing wins over Piercestown/Murrintown and
Bannow/Ballymitty to progress. We call
on all available to support the team.
The U-10 hurling league has also started, playing every Wednesday. In the opening match Taghmon/Camross lost to
Geraldine/O’Hanrahans by 2-1 to 1-0.
In the U-14 league, Taghmon/Camross drew with Geraldine O’Hanrahan’s at O’Kennedy Park on April 27. On May 6 the team had a home win over St. James’ by 5-2 to 0-0. Scores were Cussie Murphy (2-1), Jessie Wall (2-0), Aileen Power (1-1). Taghmon/Camross entered a team in the Primary Club Blitz held at Parc Charman on May 15. Taghmon/Camross won out of Group B but went down to Oylegate in the semi-final (6-1 to 0-0). The group scores were TC 2-1; Ballygarret 0-0 (Cussie Murphy 1-1, Aileen Power 1-0); TC 2-0; Bunclody 0-0 (Ruth Colfer, Aileen Power 1-0); TC 6-0; Kilrush 0-1 (Aileen Power 4-0, Jessica Wall 2-0), TC 5-0; Raparees 2-0 (Aileen Power 2-0, Ruth Colfer 2-0, Cussie Murphy 1-0). This was a fine performance by the girls.
