Taghmon/Camross Weekly Press Release, 29 November, 1999
Fox Cup Win
The Intermediate hurling team secured the first silverware of the year for the adult club with a walk-over victory against Fethard in the Fox Cup final at Mersheen on Saturday. Taghmon/Camross had enough players on the wet miserable November afternoon to field 2 teams which indicates a great interest in hurling and augers well for next year and for the ongoing U-21 championship. The U-21 hurlers will continue training this week for a championship match against Geraldine O'Hanrahan's at the weekend.
Licence
Taghmon/Camross GAA Community Centre was granted a club licence to serve alcoholic beverages at the Circuit court hearing last Tuesday. The bar will be open soon and all paid-up members will be notified by post. The granting of the licence is a key milestone in the club development. The club acknowledges the sterling efforts of all who have contributed their time, effort and money to this important development. The Community Centre is a great community resource of which the entire parish can be proud.
Lotto
The club's Lotto jackpot now stands at £6,500. The next draw is today (Wednesday) in Ryan's pub in Taghmon. Tickets are available from all usual sellers. Bottles of whiskey have been added as extra Christmas prizes for this draw.
