Taghmon/Camross GAA Club Notes, 3 July 2000
Hurling
The second team remained in contention for the Division 2D crown with a emphatic win against Adamstown B in Good Counsel College on Tuesday last by 2-14 to 1-9. The half time score was 1-6 to 1-5. The scorers were Tom O'Gorman (2-0), Adrian Morrissey (0-4), Eoin Leacy, Joe Doyle, Malcolm McLoughlan, Derek Breen (0-2 each), Bernard O'Gorman and Jonathon Waters (0-1 each). The first hurling team plays in the ACHL 2B final against Clonard in Oylegate at 2 pm on Sunday. The final 2D league match for the second team is home against Ballyhogue on Tuesday evening. U-21 hurling championship is the following week.
General Meeting
There is a general meeting for all club members on Monday July 10 at 9 pm in the Clubhouse.
Minor Football Champions
The club is the County Roinn 2 minor football champion having beaten Kilmore last Thursday more decisively than the 1-9 to 1-6 suggests. Adrian Morrissey was selected Wexford Creamery Man of the Match after scoring 0-8 of the total. The remainder was scored by Paul Doyle (1-0) and Eoin Leacy (0-1). The club thanks Tom's Tavern, Glanbia Taghmon, Tom Nash and A&M Hardware for generous sponsorship of the team's final expenses.
