Hurling League
Taghmon/Camross Junior hurlers finished the Division 2D league campaign with an emphatic win by 8-8 to 1-7 over Ballyhogue in Taghmon on Tuesday evening last. The team has qualified for at least a play-off for the final. Taghmon started the match slowly with several players clearly showing the effects of their exertions in the Intermediate Football Championship match 2 days earlier and Ballyhogue led by 1-3 to 0-1 early on. But a goal scoring binge resulted in Taghmon leading by 3-4 to 1-3 at half time. The second half continued much the same. Scorers for Taghmon/Camross were Tom O'Gorman (4-1), Micheál O'Grady, Pat O'Callaghan, Mick Carty (1-1 each), Mick O'Gorman (1-0), Eoin Lacey, Jonny Waters, Derek Breen, and Malcolm McLoughlan (0-1 each). For Ballyhogue James Cartin (1-0), James Breen (0-2), Eddie Galvin, TJ Butler, Norman Carr, Simon Ring and Denis Asple (0-1 each).
Championship
The intermediate hurlers play Horeswood in Grantstown on Friday evening at 7:30. The replay of the Intermediate Football first round match against St. Fintan's will probably be fixed for the bank holiday weekend.
