Taghmon/Camross GAA Club Notes, 1 May 2000

Football

The junior football team remains undefeated in Division 2B after home victories over Kilrush and Shelmaliers during the past week.  On Tuesday last Taghmon/Camross defeated Kilrush by 3-7 to 1-5.  Kilrush led at half time by 0-5 to 1-0 in a game played in windy conditions.  Scorers were Derek Kent (1-3), Jaimie O’Hanlon (1-0), Nicky Cousins (1-0), Malcolm McLoughlan (0-2), Joe Doyle and Darren Colfer (0-1).  On Monday evening the victory over an understrength Shelmaliers team was 2-18 to 1-3 (1-12 to 0-3 at half time).  Taghmon/Camross scorers were Adrian Morrissey (0-5), Ger Kelly (0-4), Malcolm McLoughlan (0-4), Jason Delaney (1-1), Michael Carty (1-0), Diarmuid Buttimer (0-2), Darren Colfer and Declan Clark (0-1).  The Shelmaliers scorers were Cormac O’Connor (1-0), Barry Murphy, Mark Tobin and Derek Walsh (0-1).

The senior team lost to Naomh Eanna in Premier A in Parc Uí Suíocháin on Sunday.  After playing an experimental line-up in the first half Taghmon/Camross trailed by 3-4 to 0-1.  The performance in the second half was better and the final score was 3-5 to 1-5, but the first half deficit was too much to overcome.  The scorers were Micheál O’Grady (1-0), Jason McLoughlan, Malcolm McLoughlan, Adrian Morrissey, Jason Delaney and Joe Doyle (0-1).

County Development draw

Underage

Taghmon/Camross defeated Adamstown by 5 goals to 1 in the Caulfield League hurling.  Taghmon lost its Community games U-10 title by 2-1 to 0-6 to Clongeen in Taghmon on Monday.  There is no U-10 training this week on Wednesday or Saturday.
