Football

Taghmon/Camross Junior B footballers started their campaign with a 2-10 to 1-5 win over Rathgarogue-Cushinstown in Cushinstown on Friday evening. Taghmon-Camross was better throughout and led by 1-6 to 0-1 at half time. Ger Power at centre forward was dominant up front in this half. In the second half wholesale changes were made to give players on the large panel an opportunity. The scorers were Ger Power (1-3), Joe Doyle (0-4, frees), Paul Doyle (1-1), Darragh Kelly (01), Dermot Breen (0-1).

Underage

Under 10 hurlers take on Tullogher in the semi-final of the Caulfield league this evening (Wednesday). The Under 14 hurlers had a good win 4-4 to 1-3 over Horeswood in the first round of the championship

Official Opening

Preparations continue for the official opening of Taghmon-Camross GAA Community Centre on June 17. A full weekend of activities is planned and the highlight is a hurling match in which Wexford challenge Galway. Other activities include a hurling challenge match on Friday evening. Football, Ladies Football and underage matches are also in the planning stage. Music will be played on the temporary stage. A souvenir booklet is being produced. Any one who would like to be involved should contact any member of the committee. Many stewards will be needed on the day and many advance preparations need to be made.

Lotto

The Lotto is now worth £8,300 to a single winner. Tickets are available from usual sources.
