The Idea of Tavus |
||
| 02/05/00 Tavus is an idea of mine that I had almost a year ago now. It is an imaginary village set in a world of fantasy. When you come to Tavus you most leave all your disbeliefs behind. Magic exists here as does technology. This is where Tavus stemmed from, the idea of joining both the world of fantasy and the world of technology. I had been thinking about making a website anyway so I started thinking about Tavus. I wanted to have a website which would contain information on things that I had an interest in, as well as a place where I could put my own poems and stories on display for people to see. Next I thought of how I would present this information, this is where my idea started to take shape. I decided to have separate areas in my website for particular subjects. These areas would be buildings. I finally settled on an Inn, a Library, a Wizard's Tower and a Mayor's house. These would house the various subjects or could be used to add further functionality to the site. But not only is this a site containing information and only my own writings. No, I am hoping that Tavus will develop into something much more. I am hoping that Tavus will develop into a community, a true cyber-village, a place where people can put their stories, poems, music ideas in a more user-friendly and more accessible website. Also if the net becomes what I believe it will become, meaning that eventually the net will be a fully immersive VR (Virtual Reality) world. Then will I be able to make Tavus a part of that world, where you will indeed be able to walk into the Inn, for example, and listen to some music. However the bandwidth is not here just yet for that and for the moment you will have to use your imagination. I will leave you now to let you explore Tavus. Please continue to come to Tavus and hopefully I will be able to realise my dream of creating a community in Tavus. I must remind you that it is early days yet for Tavus and that much of its contents are not yet finished. This is due to my own RL (Real Life) responsibilities, that being the fact that I have major exams this year. However come the end of June, work will most certainly be able to continue at full speed. |
