In Tralee Town

There are many Hotels, Pubs, and Restaurants around Tralee offering quality food at affordable prices. For very good bar food try Stokers Lodge, on the Listowel Road, near the Rail Station.

Siamsa tire   -   The National Folk Theatre of Ireland presents a theatrical entertainment based on the wealth of Irish Traditional Music, Song, Dance, and Folklore. 8.30 p.m. most nights during the summer season.

Kingdom Greyhound Stadium   -   Enjoy an evening of fun and excitement in pleasant surroundings. Food and drink available and you might even win a Jackpot. Tuesday and Friday evening during the season.

Kerry the Kingdom    -   Where history comes alive.Combines an audio-visual tour of Kerry, The County Museum with interactive media and re-constructions, and The Geraldine Tralee exhibition where you can experience a day in the life of an Irish medieval town complete with sounds and smells.

The Aqua-Dome   -   The kids love this. It has Water Cannons - Slides - Raging Rapids - Whirlpools - Wave Pool - loads more. For adults there is Saunas - Steam Room - Cool Room - Sunbed - and all of the stuff mentioned for kids.

Blennerville Windmill   -   See a full working windmill and enjoy the sights from one of the highest buildings around Tralee. Caution - stairs are steep and you need to be moderately fit and have a head for heights. There is an excellent exhibition on the Irish Potato Famine 1847 and some detail about the Jeannie Johnson famine ship.

Ballybeggan Race Course   -   Monthly Horse Race Meetings through the summer season.

 

Other Areas Nearby

Killarney   -   One of the best know tourist destinations in the world. A 30 minute drive from Tralee, you can enjoy all Killarney has to offer with the reassurance that within minutes you can return to the friendly athmosphere of Tralee.

Banna Strand   -   The famous beach where Sir Roger Casement landed from a German U boat prior to his arrest, trial, and execution, during the war for independance.

Ardfert Monastic Remains   -   Ruins of 13th century Abbey and monastic settlement.

Dingle Oceanworld

Fungi   -   Take a boat trip into Dingle Bay to meet Dingle's friendly dolphin.

Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann   -   Listowel, Scoil Eigse August 19th - 24th, Fleadh on August 24th 25th and 26th

Golf

Some of the world's best golf courses can be reached within 30 minutes and there are many other fine courses nearby catering for holiday golf.

Championship courses at Ballybunnion, Tralee, Killarney, Dingle, and Adare

other courses at The Kerries (3km), Ballybeggan (1km), Ardfert, Listowel, Castlegregory, Kilorglin, etc.   

Fishing

Every variety of fishing is available locally, coarse, game on river and lake, and sea (both beach and deep water).

There are many interesting walks in and around Tralee. From long flat beaches to stunning mountain passes you can select a variety of terrain, degree of challenge, or length of route, and be assured of beautiful scenery all around.
