TAG is not an Adoption Facilitating Agency. TAG can not and does not match Thai children with adoptive parents. Strict codes for Thai - Ireland Adoptions exist and must be followed (go to Procedures). TAG is merely a support group.
If you reside on the Island of Ireland and wish to make contact with a member of TAG in your local area (there may or may not be such) the following are our Terms Of Engagement:- a. Because it is a small voluntary organisation, it is the preferred policy to TAG to reserve "one on one" contact to interested parties at an advanced stage of the adoption process (ie assessment complete or almost complete with Thailand short-listed as a possible country from which to adopt, or perhaps, putting together an application for Thailand). More general information can be obtained from this site, (the Adoption Board in R. of I.) or advertised TAG information evenings. Also for that reason, how quickly (or slowly!) we make contact is fluid. We will get to you as soon as possible. b. Forward an e mail from the panel below giving names, address (e mail & actual) and telephone number(s). You should also furnish non-sensitive details of your circumstances addressing your requirement for making contact in order that any member put in contact with you can apply some advance thought to the matter. c. While we certainly seek to promote and assist adoption from Thailand to Ireland, TAG can not and does not provide a 24 hour on-line, or on-call service. We would ask that you appreciate that our members have regular, demanding jobs (in and out of their homes) so please be sensitive to this if contact is made. d. Similarly, where contact is made by a member of TAG it is on a "you call-back" basis (Adoption related telephone conversations can be lengthy! TAG will give time and (some) expertise, those seeking contact however, should pay for the call) e. TAG appreciates that you will very likely want to know as much detail about children as possible. The backgrounds to individual children however and is always private. To avoid embarrassment, we would ask that you do not ask personal questions about your contact's child.
