survey of people conducted to learn of their greatest personal fears, “Speaking in
front of a group of people” was ranked No1 for over 63% of the people
surveyed.....that's almost 2 out of every 3!
So in 2007, if you believe that
it is time for a change for the better in your life and you would like to be able to speak
with confidence before a group of people, then The Galtees Toastmasters in Mitchelstown is
the club to join!
You see, the main reason that any Toastmasters club exists is to provide you with a supportive,
friendly and enjoyable atmosphere in which you have the opportunity to develop your
speaking skills, which in turn fosters self-confidence.
Our club, The Galtees
Toastmasters, is only 2 years old and was Chartered in 2005 to Toastmasters International
(www.toastmasters.org). Every member in our
club joined to improve their ability of speaking in front of a group of people. The 10
step programme developed by Toastmasters International takes a practical step-by-step
approach to assist you in achieving the goal of being able to speak, with confidence,
before any group of people.
As you will see below, The
Galtees Toastmasters Club meets on alternate Tuesday nights in The Firgrove Hotel,
Mitchelstown at 8:00pm for an 8:10pm start. I would encourage you to come along to one of
our meetings as a guest* of the club, and in this way, you can observe our meetings and
decide if you would like to join.
*Note:
There is no obligation on any guest/visitor to speak at meetings but if you wish to do so
your contributions are more than welcome.
