Services

- Brush Out
This is the first of many steps to get you dog looking its best, dogs need regular brushing, yes even those with short hair, it promotes a healthy coat. - Clipping
If your dog needs to be clipped into a particular style this will now be done. Such dogs as poodles need quite a lot of this kind of styling. - Nail Trimming
Most dogs need their nails trimmed from time to time, long nails can be of great discomfort to dogs, making it difficult to walk and in some severe cases causing ingrown nails and causing the toes to turn out. - Ear Cleaning
Yet another part of grooming that owners do not always wish to do at home, but a very important part of grooming, to avoid ear infections and to detect any problems with the ears, removing dead hair from the ears and cleaning of the ear itself. - Anal Glands
Not what you would call the best part of dog grooming, but sometimes a necessity, some dogs have difficulty in expressing their glands naturally and can be see scooting along the ground, groomers will express these glands to help with this problem. - Bathing
Now this can be fun, some dogs love their baths, lots of bubbles and special shampoos, Black shampoo for Black dogs, White shampoo for White dogs, Medicated shampoo for dogs with skin allergies and to follow this a nice conditioner if suitable for your dogs coat type. - BLOW DRY
Many dogs seem to enjoy this part of grooming, I think they like the warmth of the dryers and the gentle brushing action, I know I enjoy getting my hair done at the hairdressers, why not dogs. - Styling
This is the fun bit, taking a nice doggie that may have gotten a little woof around the edges and styling its hair to the breed standard, and for cross breeds there are many great styles, to put a pet in their step. - SCISSORING
This is for breeds like the Bichons and the Poodles in particular to get that plush look on the dogs coat, It can make the difference in a wonderful looking dog and a dog that has just been tidied up. - THINNING
This is to blend the areas between the clipped parts and the scissored parts, so there is not definite jump from one length to the next and makes the coat flow instead of stick up, very important for a good finish on most of the coats. - HAND STRIPPING
This is done for those dogs that have a wire coat to help maintain the colour and the wire texture of the coat, Mainly used on show dogs and wire hair coats of dogs that have not been neutered, Neutering can change the coat texture and hand stripping is not always suitable for the dog. - COLOGNE
As a finishing touch, I usually add Cologne to the dogs coat, If however the dog had skin problems this will not be applied to your dogs coat. - COLOURING
Yes, you can get your dogs coat coloured, if it has a suitable coat and has been colour tested, there is an extra charge for this service as it does take time and patience, lot of it, usually suitable to white dogs like Bichons or white poodles, but please ask Ann for information, It can be great fun for Birthdays, Valentines day, St. Patrick's day or Christmas etc.Prices will vary depending on the condition of your dog. BEFORE YOU LEAVE YOUR DOG IN FOR A GROOMING SESSION THESE FEW TIPS HELP YOUR DOG ENJOY HIS STAY
- Do not feed your dog the morning of its grooming session. A full tummy is not great when you are being lifted in and out of the bath or onto a table
- Please take your dog for a walk before his grooming, They usually like to have a pee and to run off that excess energy before having to stand still for a hairstyling session
- If your dog has any strong dislikes, please inform your groomer before the grooming session.
- Always bring your dog into the shop with a properly fitting collar and lead.
- If your dog has skin issues and your vet has prescribed a particular shampoo, please bring this with you.
- Should you like to get a colour put in your dogs hair for a special occasion, I can do this for you, but your dog will have to come into me at least 48 hours before this for a test patch to make sure the colour agrees with your dog.
- Your dog will be given water when and if needed, so you don't have to worry about it getting thirsty
