Con Keating Park

Here are some of the latest pictures from Con Keating Park. With only pictures up at the moment we hope to give our viewers a more detailed look into the development in the near future.

Phase 1 of Con Keating Park has got under way during the past week when the piling for the foundations were put in place. Phase 1 of the development consists of construction of a club house and dressing rooms facilities and will include 4 dressing rooms, 2 shower rooms, refeeres room, lift, gym room, store room, kitchen, recreational room and board room. The expected completion date for the development is the end of the year.

The site before any construction and destruction took place in Con Keating Park.

Work began on the site began on the 18th of May 2006 with the destruction of the wall seperating the big field and small field and the clearing of the site.

The site cleared and ready for pilling.

The machine picture above was used for doing the piled foundation, it uses a 40ft drill piece and drilled down through the bog till it hit rock before the hole was filled with concrete.

Above shows the finished products of the piling, after the holes are drill they are filled with a steel cage and concrete is poured and left to set.
