St. Mary's seniors had a bad start to their South Kerry league campaign when defeated by a much stronger Portmagee. The Mary's were on the back foot from the throw in when after just 15min they were 1-3 to no score down, but the under strength St Mary's team made a great come back and lead for a short period of time by one point but at half time the score was 1-4 a piece. The second half was one to forget for the Mary's as they failed to score while the Rangers registered 1-7 which left the game on a score line of 1-11 to 1-4.
