The Tuesday league came down to a race between Ned Costello, Kevin Simms and Paddy Fitzsimons. Ned reckoned it was do or die for him tonight. Kevin was not feeling very confident but was hoping to get points in his group while Paddy thought he'd have to do a 19 min to take the points and have a chance of overtaking Ned. It was going to be a hard job to get into the points with 48 riders signing on for tonights time trial. The evenings have closed in for another year and there is not enough light for evening races so we have to find something else to occupy ourselves on Tuesday nights.

Ned Coslello geared up for a "do or die"effort.

Unfortunately I can't confirm who the winner of the Tuesday league is yet, but as Ned got 3 points and Kevin and Paddy got only 2 each, I think we can take that Ned Costello is the Tuesday Champion.
Well done Ned and congratulations to Kevin and Paddy for keeping the result hanging right up to the last race.

Henry Whelan presents Phil with a much deserved bouquet of flowers.

Many thanks to Pat and Phil Halligan, well especially Phil, for providing all the riders with the usual apple pie and cream after our final evening race. Phil spent all day Tuesday baking a load of pies and with some help from Margaret Payne and Sheila Blake served them up to everybody along with tea or coffee. It was very welcome after a difficult time trial, as usual.

Not forgetting the rest of us who competed for points each week. Without us we can't have winners so keep up the training, there's always next year. I say that to myself every year.
