A camel they say is a horse designed by a committee. Well on that basis one could say that this years Wicklow 200 course is a Camel Trail because its design was very much influenced by the feedback we received from last years participants.

Some said last year's event was the hardest, hottest, longest, and the most challenging Wicklow 200 ever. But for others it was the most satisfying rewarding, and enjoyable challenge ever. Those opinions are from opposite ends of the spectrum so,needless to say  there were many opinions in between.

The organisers are grateful to the many participants who went to the the trouble of communicating their feelings to them. That feedback has helped in planning this years event.

Of course it's a case of "Different strokes for different folks" and we will never please everyone so the best we can do is offer a choice and let YOU the rider decide. The Wicklow 200 Classic is Ireland's Premier Leisure Cycling event and so it will never be easy.

Close on 500 participants completed last years course (which was tough) but nevertheless some changes are planned. Now we don't mean that instead of boiling sun it will be wet and cold but ...you never know.

This year will be the 19th Wicklow 200 and it is now established as the premier leisure event in Ireland. Many people down the years have contributed to it's success. One of those is Bob Naylor who has taken over the organising of the West Wicklow, our sincere thanks to Bob. Thanks also to our loyal sponsors without whomwe could never have reached such heights with this event.

At 68, Kevin Simms was one of the oldest finishers in last years WW200. Kevin is flying this year again and might just do that lap of honour. Kevin is training in Calpe, Spain with the Vets group headed by Peter Schweppes. The weather is just like last years Wicklow 200 so Kevin should be fighting fit come the 17th of June.
